One-to-one life skills

Community participation and everyday confidence

Taking part can start with a small step: making a phone call, practising a conversation or going along to a local group. We work alongside you on the everyday skills that support the connections you want to make.

For self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We are an unregistered provider and can't accept NDIA-managed funding.

What you could work on

Practise everyday conversations

You might want to get more comfortable asking a question, speaking up or phoning to book something. Practising those situations can be part of your life-skills support. You choose what matters to you and how you want to approach it.

  • Practise phoning to make a booking.
  • Ask a question or explain what you need.
  • Work on speaking up in everyday situations.

Take a step into something local

Community participation can mean joining an activity that interests you. You might choose a local group and go along with support the first time. The starting point is your interest, rather than a fixed program that everyone follows.

  • Choose something local you would like to try.
  • Plan how to take the first step.
  • Go along with support while you build confidence.

Make connection part of your routine

Following through on a plan can involve organising your week, arranging travel and making contact. You can practise these together as part of building routines that keep you connected. What we work on can change as your goals change.

  • Connect a local activity with your weekly plan.
  • Practise the communication involved in making arrangements.
  • Build everyday routines around things that matter to you.

Questions about this support

Is confidence support a form of therapy?

This is practical life-skills practice, not clinical therapy. We work on everyday situations such as conversations, bookings and joining in with local activities.

Can I choose the activity I want to try?

Yes. Your choices guide what we work on. We get to know what matters to you and agree the first steps together.

Where can we meet?

We support adults in Maroochydore, Cotton Tree and surrounding Sunshine Coast suburbs. Meeting locations and travel arrangements are flexible and agreed individually. Not sure whether we cover your suburb? Get in touch and we'll talk it through.

Your plan and the cost of support

Our support rates are based on the current NDIS pricing schedule. We confirm your rate in writing and agree it with you before support begins.

If you're not sure how your funding is managed, or whether it can be used for this kind of support, tell us what you know and we'll work it out together.

Information for support coordinators

The limits of this support

We don't provide personal care, medication support or clinical therapy. If you need one of those supports while you're with us, an appropriate support person can come along too. We'll talk through who does what before the session, so everyone is clear and comfortable.
