One-to-one life skills

Daily living skills and household routines

Daily living skills are the practical things that help you look after your space and organise your day. You can choose a household task or routine to work on, then break it into steps that feel manageable.

For self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We are an unregistered provider and can't accept NDIA-managed funding.

What you could work on

Look after your own space

Household skills practice can include cooking, cleaning and organising the space you use. The focus is learning how to approach a task and practising it with someone alongside you. You do not have to work on everything at once.

  • Choose a household task that matters to you.
  • Work through the steps in an order that makes sense.
  • Practise organising a space so it works for you.

Organise your week

Weekly planning brings meals, shopping, appointments and household routines together. You might start with what is coming up and decide what needs to happen first. The plan can change as you learn what works for your days.

  • Plan meals and the shopping they need.
  • Keep track of appointments and upcoming activities.
  • Choose manageable steps for everyday jobs.

Practise towards your own goals

Building independence does not mean you have to do everything alone. You choose what you want to get more confident doing. We agree a starting point together and practise in the real places where those skills are useful.

  • Choose a practical goal for your everyday life.
  • Practise at a pace that suits you.
  • Review what you would like to work on next.

Questions about this support

What is the difference between daily living skills and personal care?

Daily living skills here means practical learning around tasks such as cooking, household routines and organising your week. Personal care, medication support and clinical therapy are outside our service.

Do I need to have a complete weekly plan before I enquire?

No. A first conversation is a chance to talk about your days, what is working and what you would like to change. We plan the first steps together.

Where can we meet?

We support adults in Maroochydore, Cotton Tree and surrounding Sunshine Coast suburbs. Meeting locations and travel arrangements are flexible and agreed individually. Not sure whether we cover your suburb? Get in touch and we'll talk it through.

Your plan and the cost of support

Our support rates are based on the current NDIS pricing schedule. We confirm your rate in writing and agree it with you before support begins.

If you're not sure how your funding is managed, or whether it can be used for this kind of support, tell us what you know and we'll work it out together.

The limits of this support

We don't provide personal care, medication support or clinical therapy. If you need one of those supports while you're with us, an appropriate support person can come along too. We'll talk through who does what before the session, so everyone is clear and comfortable.
